The Oxford Wildcats varsity football team has been running, sweating and hitting hard as practice is underway.

With the season and home opener against the Division 1 state champion Romeo Bulldogs on Friday, Aug. 26 at 7 p.m., Head Coach Bud Rowley is busy steeling his young men for an all-out gridiron war.

“We’ve got to be tough, we’ve got to be coachable, we’ve got believe in what we’re doing,” he said. “We can’t give up. We’ve got to believe in each other. We need to be a team.”

“I’m pumped up,” Rowley noted. “You only coach for one reason – to win them all. Why would you do anything else?”
