Body discovered in woods may be missing woman from group home

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office says the body of a female believed to be 63-year-old Theresa Adams was discovered by deputies around 11 a.m. Thursday morning, in a wooded area near Hummer Lake and Metamora roads.

General characteristics of the body are reported to be consistent with those of Adams.

An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted by the Medical Examiner’s Office Friday, with efforts being made to positively identify the body.

At the time of her disappearance, officials said Adams had walked away from the group home in the past but had always been found walking on roadways within several hours of going missing. She was entered into the Law Enforcement Information Network as a missing/endangered person as she was said to be easily lost and disoriented when she is in unfamiliar areas, and because she requires medication.

Investigators say foul play is not suspected in the death.
