Council elects officers

The Oxford Village Council elected its officers at the Dec. 13 meeting. Sue Bossardet was re-elected as village president, while Erik Dolan was elected to serve as president pro tem.

Missing flag sought

Oxford American Legion Post 108 is asking that a missing U.S. Coast Guard flag with gold fringe be returned.

The flag was last seen when it was used during the Memorial Day ceremony at the Lakeville Cemetery in Addison Township.

It does not belong to Post 108. It was borrowed from North Oakland Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 334 and is part of a set.

Whoever has the flag is asked to please return it to Post 108, which is located at 130 E. Drahner Rd. No questions will be asked.

Winter clothing drive

Leonard United Methodist Church (254 E. Elmwood St.) is collecting winter clothing for those in need.

Donations of new and gently-used winter coats, hats, scarves and gloves/mittens are being sought between now and Jan. 31. Warm items for men, women and children are needed. All sizes are welcome.

Donations can be dropped off at Addison Fire Station #1 (4026 Forest St.) in Leonard, the Addison Township office (1440 Rochester Rd.) in Lakeville and the Addison Township Public Library (1400 Rochester Rd). in Lakeville.

The items will be available at Leonard UMC, free of charge, to folks who need them every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Jan. 11 and ending Feb. 22.
