CAM Logic hosts Tech Day

CAM Logic opened its doors to the public last Thursday for “Technology Day” to show-off their new location and everything they have to offer as an Oxford business.

The event featured technology demonstrations, learning, prizes and food.

Members of the Oxford community were invited to see CAM Logic’s new 32,000-square-foot facility (including a new 3D printing & scanning lab), and learn about all the latest software and hardware technologies.

CAM Logic, now located at 650 Glaspie St. in the village, has been an Oxford business for 15 years.

The business was previously located at 38 S. Washington St. in downtown Oxford, with a supporting office in Auburn Hills.

The two offices have now been combined under the new roof, bringing a heightened sense of employee morale to the company, according to Jim Carlisle, owner and president of CAM Logic.

“It was nice being in the historic downtown Oxford area. We enjoyed that and we enjoyed the community aspect of it, but for us as a company, we outgrew the space. This building offers us opportunity for growth,” Carlisle said.

CAM Logic is a provider of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, 3D Printers, 3D Scanners and rapid prototyping technologies and services to support engineering, from design through manufacturing.

“We take technologies that we choose to represent based on their quality, their capability and how well they integrate with the other technologies that we offer,” Carlisle said. “Everything that we do here goes together and anybody from the manufacturing community that we serve could use some and, inevitably, most of the technology that we use. That makes us more valuable and deepens our relationships with our customers.”

Carlisle said he is looking forward to continued growth as an Oxford business in the new space. “Oxford is our home,” he said. “There are a lot of businesses that come and go in (other areas). People don’t come and go here.”
