Clarkston students show quick thinking in quiz bowl contest

On Dec. 1, Clarkston students from all elementary schools came together to compete in the statewide Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl. The students demonstrated quick thinking, preparation, knowledge and teamwork skills.
Clarkston students competed against 54 teams statewide.
‘The competition was exciting,? said Susan Banworth, Clarkston Elementary teacher. ‘Our students did an excellent job representing our school.?
The experience was both exciting and challenging. The Quiz bowl is designed for students to have fun while participating in a scholastic event.
Topics covered during the Bowl included math, geography, government, spelling, sports, science, English, literature and history.
Each team gathered around a computer to answer the questions’they were given two chances to answer the questions correctly. Teams were judged based on the pace of their performance.
