WernetShe was born March 22, 1922 to Michael and Sarah McQuade in Detroit, Michigan on March 22nd, 1922. She married William (Bill) in Northville, Michigan at the age of 20; they celebrated 71 years of marriage and seven children together. She lived in Detroit, Grosse Pointe Woods, Harper Woods, and Oxford, Michigan, always nearby family. Betty is preceded in death by husband Bill and son Bill. She is survived by daughters Betsy (Dave), Jeanne (Randy), Nancy (Hasan), and Gail (Jim) and sons Bruce and David. Betty was the grandmother of 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She is remembered as quick-witted, kind, and patient. She loved to dance to anything from Frank Sinatra to Lady Gaga and “never met a muffin she didn’t like.”

She enjoyed the simpler things in life, yet she was also known to send an occasional email to her grandchildren using her iPad.

Per Betty’s request, there is no funeral service or visitation. She would like everyone to instead remember her when “paying it forward.” In lieu of flowers, Betty wanted monetary donations to be sent to the North Oakland Transit Authority (NOTA) in Lake Orion, Michigan, where she was a “frequent flyer” for many years.
