Good time had by all at Celebrate Oxford

From kids games and classic cars to musical acts and a never-ending supply of tasty food, it’s no wonder Celebrate Oxford is consistent hit with the community as well as folks from out of town.
‘I think it went really well,? said Michelle Bishop, executive director of the Oxford Community Development Authority, which the main sponsor and organizer of the event. ‘It seemed like everyone was having a good time.?
Although there was no official count of how many people visited this year’s celebration, Bishop said, ‘To me, it seemed like there were more people there than last year.?
Bishop said she was ‘amazed? at how popular the Kids Central area was.
‘There were lines for everything,? she said. ‘There were kids everywhere. Everyone was having a lot of fun.?
Sponsored by a number of area churches, Kids Central offered fun, wholesome and affordable child/family activities, games and entertainment.
Suzanne Ardelan reported the Historic Home Tour through Oxford was also quite popular selling 145 tickets
The Rotary Classic Car Show was once again a run-away hit with its 76 cars on display, as was the Oxford Rotary News (published by the Leader), the sales of which generated about $1,400 for the club.
