Grapplers dominate Seaholm

The Oxford Wildcats Varsity A wrestling team dominated the Seaholm Maple Leafs 72-0 on Jan.18. The team is now 4-0-2 overall.

Senior Dallas Winkleman started off the night with a first period fall, and the Wildcats never looked back.

Senior Captain Byron Schlickenmeyer won by a 5-2 decision at 215. Senior Campbell Coker (Heavyweight) and sophomore Matthew Curtis (103) both won by Void.

At 112 pounds, sophomore Liam Hillary won by fall in 1:47. Freshman Nathan Call (119) pinned his opponent in 3:17, while sophomore Joe Good (125) pinned his opponent in 1:19.

Senior Captian Jacob Call (130) won by a score of 8-2.

Senior Captain Garrett Tyrell won by fall in 2:31 at 135. Junior Ryan Miller defeated Blair Boerkel 6-0 at 140 lbs.

Sophomore Caleb Tabert (145), sophomore Trent Myre (152), and sophomore Devin Trevino (160) won by fall in 3:17, 2:38, and 0:32 respectively.

Sophomore Thomas Wandrie finished off the dual with a 7-1 decision.

On Saturday, Jan. 28, the Wildcats will be back in action when the team will travel to Roseville High School (17855 Common Rd.) for a tournament, held at 9 a.m.
