On Saturday, Betsy Ross, the 18th-century woman folklore credits with making the first American flag, was spotted cruising around Addison Township’s Lakeville Lake in a canoe with Old Glory fluttering in the breeze. Actually, it was Kelly Jones, of New York City, dressed up as the legendary figure. Driving the canoe was her father, Jim Jones, of Addison, who donned a tricorne hat.
