Loss to Adams ends post-season play for soccer

Oxford’s boys ended the soccer season with a tough 3-0 loss to Rochester Adams in the team’s first game of district play.

The Wildcats took the loss on their home field, making a rather bittersweet end to the season for the team’s eight seniors.

Head Coach John Thaler took to Twitter to bid farewell to the graduating boys, who played crucial roles in the team’s performance this season.

“The pleasure has been all mine to have been called your coach,” he said.

Though the boys won’t be moving on this season, six players were chosen for the all-district team. Senior Brent Bayley, senior Jesus Escalante, senior Cavan Vince, junior Nicholas Morawski, junior Christopher Escalante and sophomore Tristan Bennett were chosen for the accolades.

The Wildcats finished the season 10-7-3 overall and 3-2-2 in league play, which landed them fourth in the OAA white division.
