Marilyn A. Schils

Marilyn A. Schils, a longtime resident of Oxford, passed away on May 8, 2018. She was 86.

She was a loving mother, a devout catholic and a proud “Yooper.”

Following her husband’s death in 1996, Marilyn became very active in the community and was a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion for many years.Schil, Marilyn

Marilyn is survived by five children: Vicki (Rick) Heath of Oxford, Sandi (Jim) Sawyer of Florida, Becki (Dave) Harrison of Oxford, Lori (Jon) Hosking of Oxford and Kurt Schils of Oxford; seven grandchildren: Amy Barker, Nathan Heath, Lindsay Husk, Joel Harrison, Caitlyn Exelby, Josh Hosking and Cullen Hosking; seven great-grandchildren: Logan and Evan Barker, Liam, Ethan and Avery Husk, Levi Harrison and Eleanore Exelby; one sister: Betty Keldsen.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Schils; sister, Marvel Thoke; and brother, Donald Jacobs.

A funeral service was held May 11 at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors in Oxford. Pastor Matt Mendenhall officiated.

Burial at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Oxford. Memorial donations to Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
