Thomas Charles Klovski was arraigned via video May 1 in Rochester Hills 52-3 District Court before Magistrate Marie Soma on the charge of assault with a dangerous weapon (felonious assault) and domestic violence, a misdemeanor charge.

His bond was set at 10 percent of $7,500. He has a probable cause hearing scheduled for May 11 and a preliminary examination set for May 18. The case was assigned to Judge Lisa Asadoorian.

Klovski’s 26-year-old daughter filmed two videos of her interactions with him on April 29 and posted them on Facebook. The alleged crimes took place in their home in the 2800 block of Stanton Rd.

In the first video, Klovski is shown standing in front of his daughter and holding a semiautomatic rifle that’s pointed at her. She states, “This is what I have to deal with. This is my own father pointing a gun at me because he’s drunk.”

When his daughter tells him the police are coming, Klovski responds, “Good. I’m going to be a suicide by cop.”

In the Oakland County Sheriff’s report, the daughter told deputies these types of situations with her father have been occurring since she was about 7 years old. She said he “drinks and becomes extremely angry and violent,” the report stated.

“She stated . . . that nobody in the home has ever called 911 on him before because he threatens them and says if they call 911, then he will commit suicide by cop,” the report stated. “She also advised that if he thinks the police are coming, he loads one of his weapons and ‘patrols’ the home and the property waiting for the police to arrive.”

The April 29 incident happened because the daughter saw Klovski “drunk in his truck,” so she “grabbed his booze” in order to prevent him from leaving or drinking anymore, according to the report.

Klovski allegedly threatened her, followed her up the stairs with a gun and demanded the return of his alcohol. He allegedly cornered her on the stairs and attempted to hit her with the gun. That’s when the daughter began to record Klovski. He became “more aggressive” and “hit her in the arm and head with the gun,” the report stated.

The investigator observed “a small cut on her right arm,” which the daughter claimed was from the rifle.

The video shows Klovski putting a magazine in the rifle and appearing to chamber a round. “Oh, now you’re going to load it, take the safety off,” the daughter says in the video.

At this point, the daughter is heard on the video yelling, “Quit pointing a loaded gun at me . . . Can you seriously stop pointing a loaded gun at me?”

According to the report, the daughter “did eventually disarm him” and she discovered “the magazine was empty along with the chamber.” She told deputies she “believed it was loaded, but (Klovski) pulled the trigger and nothing happened.”

In the second video, Klovski is shown unarmed, but he’s heard making verbal threats to shoot her and points his finger at her as if it was a gun. He’s shown yelling racial slurs at her and knocking the cell phone out of her hand.

In the video, Klovski refers to the “U.S. militia” and declares to African Americans and Latinos “we’re going to hunt you down and (expletive) kill you.”

“It’s called an SD. It’s called search and destroy,” Klovski states on the second video.

“We’re going to (expletive) kill every (expletive) one of you! Every (expletives) one of you, we’re gonna kill you!”

The daughter told deputies that Klovski has “a lot of weapons in the home” – some of which are “locked up,” while others are “hidden” – and even when sober, “he still gets very angry.” She believes he “needs mental help,” the report stated.

During the encounter with deputies, the report stated Klovski repeatedly accused them of violating his constitutional rights and threatened to call his attorney.

A folding knife was found in Klovski’s front vest pocket, according to the report.

Klovski told deputies that he’s “a well-trained combat veteran that knows how to fight,” according to the report, but he did not resist arrest and was transported to the county jail without incident.

According to the report, Klovski told deputies his daughter is “a truant and schizophrenic” and “the reason he pointed the rifle at (her) is because she was coming at him.”

  1. Yeah I’m pretty disturbed this newspaper thought they had a right to not only publish something Insuinating I’m a schizophrenic, and now put his life in danger by saying he made racial slurs… And now people in my family are upset with me because this is in the papers. Like me and my family are trying to heal from this situation. Sickening to me that you take my abuse and use it to profit. Very sickening.

  2. Dude you’re an embarrassment to yourself, your family, and your town. Clean yourself up and get some help before you hurt someone.
