Oct. 3: A 40-year-old woman residing on the 200 block of Hunters Rill called Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies at 12:16 a.m. to report a suicidal subject at her home. A 19-year-old homeless man had allegedly asked the woman to stay the night. The woman offered blankets and food to the man, but said she did not feel comfortable letting him stay the night inside the home. The man allegedly became upset and told the woman he was going to kill himself. The man admitted to being depressed when sheriff’s deputies spoke with him and he agreed to be transported to McClaren Oakland by Oxford Fire Department for a mental health evaluation.

Oct. 2: An employee from the Deerwood Manor group home, located at 1095 Hummer Lake Rd., reported to Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies at 8:30 a.m. that a 55-year-old resident had walked away from the home around 6 a.m. that morning, while breakfast was being served and medications were being distributed to residents. Sheriff’s deputies found the front gate open. Deputies were unable to locate the man. The white male was said by employees to not to be a danger to himself or others, but that he does need to take medication for schizophrenia. Employees told sheriff’s deputies that, in a previous incident where the man had walked away from the group home, he was gone approximately one day before he went to police and reported he was ready to go back. He was entered into LEIN as a missing person.

Oct. 2: A resident on the 20 block of Moyers St. called Oxford Village Police at 10:19 p.m. to report a large, black, aggressive dog was roaming the streets around Moyers and Pontiac St. The man stated the dog was never on a leash and that it often growled and intimidated local residents. Upon searching, Oxford Village Police were unable to locate the dog or its owner.

Oct. 1: Oxford Village Police received a call from a resident on the 60 block of Powell St. to report one of his windows had been damaged. Police determined the window had been broken by a stone, but found no signs of breaking and entering. Police Chief Michael Neymanowski told this reporter the window may have been damaged by the stone after it was kicked up by a car in the driveway. A suspicious circumstances report was filed.
