Pregnancy and PPOs

Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were called to an Oxford manufactured home community on Nov. 27 in regard to a possible assault. A 22-year-old Waterford man was at his ex-girlfriend’s home in Oxford. She, as well as another ex-girlfriend who called officers, has a personal protection order (PPO) out against him, so he should not have been in her home.

When officers arrived, the woman denied that her ex-boyfriend was over, but eventually told officers that he was. According to the sheriff’s report, the woman told deputies she had not been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend and had only invited him over to let him know she was pregnant with his child.

Officers later made contact with the man’s other ex-girlfriend, who reported the incident. She said she knew of no wrongdoing on the man’s part, but called in the incident in fear of the other woman’s wellbeing. The man was arrested for violating his PPO and was taken to Oakland County Jail.

Mysterious property damage

A 65-year-old Oxford man reported damage to his home on Nov. 28.

According to the report, the man told Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies that his storm door had been damaged and its window has been shattered.

He suspected it had been shot with a BB gun, but had no leads as to who would have done it.

Deputies told the man they would look into it and advised him that several cars had also been damaged that night.

Possible sexual assault

Investigators are looking into whether a 41-year-old Oxford man molested his 27-year-old step daughter when she was a teenager after the woman told officers of the alleged attacks on Nov. 30.

The woman, an Oxford resident, told officers she had ran into her stepfather while grocery shopping and seeing him brought back memories.

According to the report, the woman told Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies that when she was 14 years old, her stepfather kissed her on the lips and “snuggled” with her a number of times.

The report also states she and her step-father had smoked marijuana together and she blacked out when she was a 14-year-old. When she awoke the next morning, she told officers she had felt pain in her private parts.

When she was 15 years old, she said her stepfather told her he was in love with her. She also reported to officers that when she was a 19-year-old, her stepfather offered her $500 to have sex with him.

Deputies assured the woman they would take the report seriously and transferred the case to the Pontiac detective unit.

Six beers later

Oxford Village police were patrolling near Lakeville Rd. on Dec. 1 when they noticed a pickup truck speeding down the road at 50 miles an hour in 35 mph zone.

According to the report, the driver was also driving on the shoulder.

Officers pulled the truck over. It was driven by a 54-year-old Ortonville man.

The man, who was pulled over around 1:30 a.m., said he had consumed six beers since 8 p.m., according to the report.

Police gave him sobriety tests, several of which he passed. But, he had a blood alcohol level of 0.10, so he was arrested for operating a vehicle while under the influence and taken to Oakland County Jail.
