Swim team wins first meet of season

The Lady Wildcat swimmers went up against Hazel Park at an Aug. 31 swim meet, ultimately sweeping the events that night with a final score of 147-23.

In a show of good sportsmanship, both teams cheered together before the meet as senior captains Rachel Commons and Victoria McClenaghan rallied to get the girls pumped up.

“Our girls immediately reached out to their competitors. I think it will be one of my favorite memories from the season,” Head Coach Jackie Rank said. “The cheering for each other continued during the meet and was so much fun to watch. With many girls on our team (being) new to the sport, it was the perfect environment to learn the routine and try out what they had been working on over the past few weeks.”
