More than 30 people braved the rain last Saturday afternoon to attend the Third Annual Classic Car and Cupcake Challenge at the Addison Township Public Library.

In the cupcake challenge, Leonard resident Lynn Boehmer took first place with her “3 vices” cupcakes. The cupcakes were made with coffee, chocolate and beer.

Placing second was Dawn Elsarelli, of Lakeville, with her vanilla bean cupcakes.

Elsarelli’s daughter Lilly, 6, earned third with her “Pretty, pretty chocolate cupcakes.”

Iris Underwood, Doreen Ciarmatari, and Donald Boose served as this year’s cupcake contest judges.

Leonard resident John Boehmer’s motorcycle was the sole entry in the car/motorcycle show.

The event was sponsored by Addison Township’s Stor-Your-Stuf and allowed the library to raise $124 to be put toward the construction of a new building someday.
