Soldiers thank area scouts for cookies

The letters from the soldiers are appreciative.
‘Hello. My name is Ivan Virruet and I just received your box of goodies,? says one. ‘I just wanted to write to you all to tell you thank you for sending that stuff. I don’t know of a soldier in my unit who doesn’t like Girl Scout cookies and the other goodies the boxes contained. And its always good to hear from home. Please feel free to email or whatever. The soldiers and sailors in my section thank you and I, too, thank you for taking the time to do this. Once again, thank you!?
Another, from SPC Tiffany Davidson, reads: ‘Thank you so much for the packages. They really did bring smiles to the whole S-6 shop. We really appreciate the support you all give by sending these packages. You really don’t know how much they bring smiles to even the dullest day! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU… none of this would be possible without your help and support!?
The letters are for Girl Scout Troop 290 of Ortonville, who packed 202 boxes with Girl Scout cookies and candy to ship to troops during a packing party April 15.
The girls still have 63 boxes waiting to be sent. They need postage and are seeking help from the community. Each box costs $8.10 to send.
‘The community’s been great,? says Girl Scout leader Kim Drayton. ‘We’re hoping we can get some more donations. The boxes are ready to go.?
Anyone wishing to help can call Kim at (248) 627-6070.
