Oxford resident Jim Wasvary passed away on October 24, 2016 at his daughter’s home in California. He was 74.
Jim is survived by his wife Pat, his children Amanda and Kent, and his granddaughter Brooklyn. Jim is also survived by his brother Ken and his family.
Jim grew up in Royal Oak, graduating from Kimball High School. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree and from Michigan State University with a master’s degree. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam, 1968. Jim was a middle school teacher in Clarkston for 31 years.
Jim loved muscle cars, traveling and camping with his Tear Drop trailer and working with wood projects. He leaves many friends whom he enjoyed going out to dinner with, card playing and cruising Woodward Avenue during the annual Dream Cruise.
Arrangements were through Lynch & Sons Funeral Home in Oxford. A funeral was held Oct. 31 followed by burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
