Both varsity Wildcat bowling teams hosted the Royal Oak Ravens on Feb. 5 and walked away touting wins across the board.
The girls won 30 to 0 against the Ravens.
The girls bowled harnessed their power as a team, shooting games of 965 and 902.
The varsity girls were led by junior Claire Sandstrom’s games of 195 and 213. Megan Armbruster (199), Deanna Staser (203,203), Marissa Smith (187) and Savanna Barnes (187) also showed solid performances that night.
The girls now sit atop the Red Division standings, flaunting a 5-0 record and an 8-1 overall record.
The boys won 28 ½ to 1 ½ in their match that evening, shooting games of 982 and 1099.
“That’s the highest 2 game set of the year,” added Head Coach JR Lafnear.
The Wildcats team was led by the senior trio of Tanner Cartner (230,238) Christian Cartner (228,214) and Luke Meyer (207,263).
Sophomore Zach Barrows also showed a strong effort with a game of 222.
The team has just two matches left this season and stands along atop the OAA Red Division. The varsity boys team stands with an overall record of 8-1 and with a 5-0 Red Division record.
Oxford’s Junior Varsity Bowlers had a strong showing that night, as well, according to Lafnear.
Grace Meyer broke her own 2 game school record with games of 204 and 276 for an outstanding 2 game set of 480. Lilly Boothe bowled a game of 213 and Mya Bruno bowled games of 193 and 186.
On the JV boys side, Tony Verbeke bowled games of 203 and 203, Dalton Hopps 206, Austin Couch 193,and Collin Massie 198,195 and Justin Sisson shot 216.
Up next, the Wildcats teams will go up against North Farmington on Thursday, February 15 at Drakeshire Lanes (35000 Grand River Ave., Farmington Hills.)
