Recognizing the team’s seven twelfth-graders – Julia Blair, Gabby Comito, Cat Dobies, Emma LaBarge, Meghan Lupu, Molly Miller and Brooke Zeiter – and their parents, the Oxford Wildcats defeated the West Bloomfield Lakers, 3-0, on Senior Night at the Ian Smith Gymnasium on Thursday, October 1.

Improving to 4-1 in Oakland Activities Association (OAA) Red Division play with the win, Oxford won the first two sets by a 25-20 margin and sealed the deal in the third set with a 25-19 victory.

Two days later, Saturday, October 3, the Wildcats returned to their home floor, welcoming in the Kensington Lakes Activities Association’s (KLAA) Novi Wildcats, the OAA White’s Rochester Falcons and the Macomb Area Conference’s (MAC) Romeo Bulldogs for a quad.

Oxford opened their day with two-set victories over Romeo and Rochester, before falling to Novi in three sets, 25-16, 25-27, 11-15.

Winning 23 of the 37 sets they have played this season, the Wildcats own a 9-6 record, as of October 4. The girls hosted the Birmingham Seaholm Maples on Tuesday, October 6, but results were not available in time for publication in this edition.

The team will hit the road for the first time since September 24 on Thursday, October 8 to battle the Clarkston Wolves at 7 p.m. at Clarkston Junior High School, located at 6595 Waldon Road.
Clarkston, who boasts a 15-2 (5-0 OAA Red) record, is one of just two teams in the division unbeaten in league play, along with the Troy Colts.
