It was a heck of game Friday night at Seymour Lake Township Park in Oxford as officers from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office played in a charity softball game.

Deputies who guard the jail took on deputies who patrol the roads in the first-ever Bars vs. Cars game.

The event raised $2,400 for the Oakland County Deputy Sheriff’s Association Children’s Benevolent Fund, which is dedicated to helping families who are struggling to pay the bills and provide the basics of life.

It was a hard-fought game on both sides, but in the end, the Bars team took home the trophy, beating the Cars team 24-6.
