With their group of “quilting gals,” Oxford Free Methodist Church’s Quilters for Life make and give baby quilts to Crossroads Care Center in Auburn Hills. Crossroads is an organization which help with free pregnancy ultrasounds, counseling and baby care. They also have a free store filled with baby needs and wants.
During the Blessing of the Quilts, “Loving Lamb” quilts are prayed over. “We pray Godly intervention will convince those who are pregnant to keep their babies and provide a loving home for them,” quilter Carla Lamberston said.
“Our gals have made well over 225 quilts in the past 15 years. They are all unique in both designs and colors. As we quilt we pray for the babies and their mothers and fathers,” Lambertson said.
