The Nutcracker at OHS

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker will be performed Saturday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m., at Oxford High School Performing Arts Center .
Led by numerous guest artists and the magnificent dancers from L.A. Dance’s pre-professional ballet division, this joyous classic will leave you with cherished memories for years to come.
Carmen Wade, a former ballet dancer of Dance Detroit in the 1980’s, is now the Ballet Director at L.A. Dance in Lake Orion. Wade danced in over 17 Nutcracker performances per season in a six year period under the direction of Iacob Lascu and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
“I really owe my career as a ballet instructor to the educators and professionals of the Metro-Detroit region,” said Wade. “Many of whom inspired me with their dedication, artistry, and work ethic! It’s wonderful to pass that passion down to all my students.”
Tickets for the performance are $20 and may be purchased online at tututix.com/ladance.

Correction

A “briefly” story on Page 3 of the Nov. 6, 2019 Oxford Leader, inaccurately reported a Zoning Board of Appeals meeting was cancelled, “because the applicant, Oakwood Wedding Chapel . . . withdrew its application.” The information for this brief was from 2018, not 2019. We regret the error and any it may have caused.
