Cagers beat Stoney Creek

The Oxford varsity boys basketball team won its record 15th game this season against Stoney Creek 43-40 Feb. 24.

Jimmy Claudio led the team with 16 points, including three pointers.

Jeam Linares tallied 10 points, 12 rebounds, and five blocks. Ray Luvine chipped in nine points of his own.

Jordan Jaden had numerous assists to propel the victory.

“Oxford had a tremendous defensive effort limiting the high-powered Stoney Creek team to 21 points through the first three quarters,” said Head Coach Steve Laidlaw.

Oxford improves to 15-3 on the season and 6-2 in the OAA. The team will compete against Groves High School Feb. 28 and against Seaholm at home on March 2 at 7 p.m. Results from both games will be reported in next week’s issue.
