Cops searching for missing group home patient

On Friday, Aug. 5 at approximately 9:20 a.m, deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Oxford Township Substation responded to a call from the Deerwood Manor Group Home (1095 Hummer Lake Rd.) regarding a missing 63-year-old patient, who had walked away from the home while the staff was preparing breakfast.

It was reported that Theresa Adams, who is diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder, had not been seen by the staff in approximately 30 minutes.

Deputies performed an area check and were unable to located Adams. She was entered in LEIN as a missing/endangered person.

Adams is described as a white female with auburn or strawberry blonde hair, hazel eyes, 5’3″ tall and 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing a light blue jacket and gray running pants.

Adams has walked away from the group home in the past and has been located walking on roadways in Brandon and Orion townships previously.

She is noted to be easily lost/disoriented when she is in unfamiliar areas and also needs medication for her condition that is provided to her at the group home.
