ORION TWP. — The Oxford Wildcats traveled to Lake Orion on Wednesday to face the Dragons and came up just short in an OAA Red league track and field meet.
The boys team lost 58-70 and the girls team lost 61-67 in the 16 track and field events.
Boys results
Oxford won the boys 4-by-800 meter relay with a time of 8:32.26 minutes, besting Lake Orion’s 8:38.52 result.

In the 110m high hurdles, Oxford’s Justin Butkiewicz won with a time of 18.9 seconds and set a season best record. Spencer Moore finished second at 18.91 seconds and set a personal record.
Senior Jacob Childress finished in the 100m sprint with a time of 11.45 seconds.
Oxford’s 4-by-200m relay team finished second with a time of 1:34.53 minutes.
In the 1,600m run, senior James Cusick came in second with a time of 4:28.64 minutes, less than two seconds behind Lake Orion’s Blake Peardon. Freshman Brady Bigelow was third with a time of 5:00.55 minutes.
The Oxford boys came in second and third in the 4-by-100m relay with times of 46.49 seconds and 47.65 seconds.
Junior Cayden Canham was third place and set a personal record in the 400m run with a time of 54.04 seconds.

In the 300m high hurdles, junior Brayden Pruetz set a season best record in his first-place finish with a time of 42.64 seconds. Sophomore Duane Gillens was second in 48.04 seconds.
Seniors Alexander McArthur and Maxton Myrand finished second and third, respectively, in the 800m run with times of 2:04.12 minutes and 2:05.49 minutes, both personal records.
In the 200m run, Childress was second with a time of 23.79 seconds.
Cusick won the 3,200m run with a time of 10:41.52 minutes, and sophomore Ethan Christoff was third with a time of 10:52.41 minutes, setting a personal record.
Oxford’s 4-by-400m relay team set a season best time of 3:32.46 minutes in its second-place finish.
Junior Noah Diepold won the long jump with a jump of 19 feet, 9 inches, while junior Anders Bartlo was second with a 19 feet, 5 inch jump. Diepold was also second in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 6 inches.
Freshman Mack Dentry came in second in the shot put with a toss of 38 feet, 10 inches. He was also second place in the discus with a throw of 94 feet, 10 inches.
Girls results
In the girls 100m high hurdles, senior Taylor Brodeur set a personal record with a time of 16.06 seconds, good for second place.
Junior Lauren Macker won the 100m sprint with a time of 13.11 seconds and senior Nadia Drobnich came in third with a time of 13.63 seconds.

The Oxford girls swept the 1,600m run with senior Mallory Bigelow winning in a time of 6:02.81 minutes. Junior Laila Bodell was second in 6:03.55 minutes and sophomore Payton Canham set a personal record in her third-place finish with a time of 6:04.24 minutes.
Bigelow won the 800m run with a season best time of 2:26.2 minutes. Junior Hannah Ersig was third in a season best time of 2:43.52 minutes.
The Oxford girls 4-by-100m relay team came in second and set a season best record with a time of 53.82 seconds.
In the 300m high hurdles, Brodeur finished second with a time of 47.78 seconds and freshman Cameron set a personal record in her third-place finish at 1:00.63 minutes.
In the 400m run, freshman Sienna Chapin was second with a time of 1:05.05 minutes and sophomore Morgan Hoyt was third in 1:06.83 minutes.
In the 200m run, Macker was second in 27.46 seconds and senior Caragh Dwyer was third in 27.57 seconds.
Freshman Julia Warrington was second in the 3,200m run, setting a personal record with a time of 13:12.39 minutes.
Oxford’s two relay teams took first place, 4:26.85 minutes, and third place, 4.52.27 minutes, in the 4-by-400m relay.
Brodeur was third place in the long jump, jumping 14 feet, 7.25 inches. Drobnich was second in the high jump, clearing 4 feet, 8 inches.
Junior Tegan O’Connor won the shot put with a distance of 32 feet, 9 inches. O’Connor also won the discus with a throw of 101 feet, 3 inches. Freshman Kacey Bartlo was second in the discus with a throw of 76 feet, 3 inches.
