This past weekend up in Metamora’s D-Bar-A Scout Ranch, overlooking Lockwood Lake, a special ceremony took place. Oxford High School Senior John Keller earned the rank of Eagle Scout at his Eagle Court of Honor ceremony.

His Eagle Project was to replace the sign in front of the Lake Orion United Methodist Church. “It was a challenging project,” he said. “Having to work with what the church wanted and what the Downtown District Association of Lake Orion Village would allow.”

In his 11 years of scouting, Keller has also earned the Arrow of Light as a Webelos Scout, and is a member of the Order of the Arrow. He has held several youth leadership positions within the troop, including Patrol Leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader.

Outside of scouting, Keller is a member of National Honor Society, OHS Improv, Oxford HS Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), Marching Band, Jazz Band, Swim and Dive and Track.

The son of Eric and Marcia Keller, his future plans include studying Biology or Neuroscience at the University of Michigan or Michigan State University.
