At their annual meeting last Wednesday, the Friends of the Addison Township Public Library presented Library Director, Jaema Berman and James Baldiga, library board of trustees president, with a check for $10,000.

The donation will be applied to the New Building Capital Campaign which will help fund the new Addison Township Public Library. When completed, the building will be a 5,000-square-foot facility located between Milmine Rd. and Cantley St.

Baldiga and Berman were appreciative of the Friends’ donation and the ways they have supported the library over the years. “The Friends understand the importance of a library,” Berman said.

“I believe that our library is the heart of the community, bringing all kinds of people together with wide-ranging objectives be it educational, health or job related,” said Char Sutherby, Friends of the Library president in a statement provided.

Since 2011, the Friends of the Library have donated over $30,000 toward programming and the New Building Fund. To stay up to date on the progress of the new library, visit LetsBuildALibrary.org.
