Moved by Treasurer Joe Ferrari and seconded by Trustee Margie Payne, the Oxford Township Board of Trustees voted to approve a request for an outdoor service permit from Legacy 925 during their Zoom video conference meeting on May 13.
The ruling enables Legacy 925’s bar and grill, 925 Social, to serve alcoholic beverages on an outdoor patio. While the establishment is currently closed, the permit is effective immediately and will run through October 31.
Legacy 925 will have to apply for a new outdoor service permit annually, and 925 Social will be allowed to use their outdoor patio from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Additionally, the restaurant is limited to two, 50-inch televisions on their outdoor patio, equipped with sound bar amplification, and the total patio space is not allowed to exceed 20-percent of 925 Social’s square footage.
Originally, the motion would have only granted the outdoor permit through October 1 and limited the number of outdoor televisions to one, but the board voted to make an amendment, granting 925 Social a little more room to work with.
Located at 925 N. Lapeer Rd., Legacy 925 is not permitted to play amplified music or host any live entertainment on their outdoor patio, easing some residents’ fears regarding noise levels.
