Longtime hardware store closing doors

Grove’s True Value Hardware has closed its doors to prepare for a ‘going out of business? sale, according to a sign posted in the window of the 190 S. Washington St. store.
‘Further information will be available in the coming weeks,? the sign stated.
The village hardware store, owned by the Grove family, has been around since 1974. It was originally opened as ProMart Hardware, then became an Ace Hardware in 1981. In July 2005, the Groves switched suppliers and the store, located in the Oxford Marketplace, became a True Value Hardware.
Given the Grove family has owned and operated businesses in this town for eight decades, this is truly the end of an era that began in 1930 when Harold Grove opened Groves? 5 & 10 store.
The 5 & 10 store served Oxford customers for 50 years before closing.
