The wall outside Mainstream Boutique at 40 N. Washington St. looks a little more feminine with a colorful blue and purple mural of a woman’s profile with flowing floral hair under rays of sunshine – an image that better suits the women’s clothing store it adorns. It replaces the mural of Michigan and wild game silhouettes that was painted for Beyond the Ears hunting store in 2016.
The new mural was designed and painted by freelance artists Tina McKechnie and Kari Smith. Owner Trina Evans hopes the wall be a good Instagram opportunity for patrons, and encourages the use of the hashtag #MainstreamBoutiqueOxford.
Mainstream Boutique just celebrated its one-year anniversary in Oxford. The local franchise was meant to open in April 2020, but was delayed two months due to the stay-at-home orders.
