Oakland County to accept household waste products

Oakland County will host a Household Hazardous Waste collection 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 30, at the Oakland County Service Center Campus , 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Pontiac.
No Styrofoam, tires, explosives, radioactive waste, Freon containing items like refrigerators, compressed gas cylinders other than BBQ sized propane tanks and fire extinguishers, commercial, contractor, business or institution waste will be accepted. All liquids must be in containers 5 gallon size or smaller.
There will be signs on campus to help direct the flow of traffic. NoHaz collection is free to Oxford and Orion townships, villages of Oxford and Lake Orion residents. Oakland, Addison (including Leonard) and Independence (Clarkston) township residents pay a $10 fee. Brandon township residents (Ortonville) pay a $15 fee.
