Oxford Public Library’s summer reading program kicks off Friday

OXFORD — Oxford Public Library’s Summer Reading Program for adults, teens and children begins this Friday.
Registered readers can participate by logging the books they read on a reading log provided by the library for a chance to win prizes.
The Youth Summer Reading Program, for children ages three to sixth grade, will be given a reading log with stickers to keep track of the days they read (or someone reads to them) for 20 minutes. Each time they read five days, they will earn a reading coin that can be used to buy books in the library’s story room bookstore. Those entering sixth grade have the option of staying with the youth program or moving up to the teen program.
The teen and youth summer reading programs run from June 6 through Aug. 8. The adult summer reading program runs from June 6 through Aug. 22.
Participants may register at the library, 530 Pontiac St, or online at miopl.beanstack.org/reader365. Readers may receive their log at the library or through the online program. For more information about the teen program visit the teen librarian in the Teen Department. – J.G.
