Oxford Strong

Dear Editor,
The following day, I went to the Lake Orion Post Office to send mail and this poem was read by Rick, US Postal Personnel, who encouraged me to send this literary work to you.
The heartfelt sorrow that was felt November 30, 2021 has touched so many in our community and afar. Good hearts have stopped beating, but these hearts that have touched so many lives will live on in those they love.
There will be little things that the families and the community will remember—their smiles, laughter—and although it is very difficult right now, the memories of these children will become tools (Oxford Strong) to push away the pain going forward.
Thank you for allowing me to send this poem for which words came from my heart.

Oxford Strong
It was an awful incidnet of fate they couldn’t escape …
this can all change as it is never too late …
Uphold to life gives us hope we can embrace …
Oxford Strong is ouir townscape.

Heart, mind & soul may not be the same. . .
We ae strong and will survive . . .
Each day we will take it in stride . . .
Oxford Strong is our guide.

Many scars will remain …
of the children’s suffering and their pain …
Things can be different: they don’t have to be the same.
