After coming off one of their worst performances of the season, the Varsity Girls Basketball team got back to business and worked hard in practice. And it paid off in their 51-36 victory over Brandon on Friday, Jan. 8.
The girls got off to a quick start, leading 13-7 at the end of the first quarter. However, Brandon fought back kept it close, trimming the lead to three by halftime 24-21.
That’s when the Wildcats three-pointers started to drop. Senior Megan Tilley hit two threes to open the quarter, helping extend the lead to 10.
Senior Emily Brooks followed suit, making two three-point shots at the end of the quarter to give the Wildcats a 40-28 lead after three quarters.

Senior Allie Laidlaw and Brooks led the Wildcats with 15 points each, and Tilley added 14 points.
