NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TO BE HELD ELECTRONICALLY
Street Light Special Assessment District of Milmine, Main, Race and Arch
To the residents and property owners of Addison Township, Oakland County, Michigan, and any other interested parties;
The Addison Township Board of Trustees shall meet on September 21, 2020. The meeting will be held electronically as noted below. The meeting shall be called to order at 6:00 p.m.
Electronic remote access, in accordance with the Michigan Governor’s Executive Order 2020-154, will be implemented in response to COVID-19 social distancing requirements and Michigan Governor’s EO 2020-160, 161, or applicable Governor’s EO. The purpose of the public hearing is to allow the Township Board to hear objections to the creation of the Special Assessment District as provided by Public Act 188 of 1954 for lighting known as Milmine, Main, Race and Arch, and for confirmation of the petition for sufficiency and to authorize the tax rolls. The proposed collection rate is $67.00 for each parcel and for a period of five years.
The assessment roll and documentation are available at the Township Offices during regular business hours for public inspection. Appearance and/or written protest at the hearing held to confirm the special assessment roll is required in order to appeal the amount of the special assessment to the Michigan Tax Tribunal.
Your comments and questions will be accepted during public forum or at an appropriate time that will be explained by the Supervisor Pearson. Comments will be limited to three minutes. You may also email your comments or concerns to pbennett@addsiontwp.org by September 21, 2020 by 5:00 p.m. to be recognized at the September 21, 2020 meeting. A copy of the meeting material may be found on the link on the Township’s homepage at www.addisontwp.org. under Township information agenda packets.

Board Meeting Synopsis
The Addison Township Board; its elected members Supervisor Pearson, Clerk Bennett, Treasurer Fisher, Trustee King, Trustee Newby, Trustee Gierak and Trustee Senft held a regular meeting on August 17, 2020 at 1440 Rochester Rd., Leonard MI 48367.
The following action was taken:
Approved the agenda.
Approved the consent agenda consisting of the June 1, 2020 minutes, bills as paid for June and July 2020, Resolution to approve agreement for Cares Act Distribution and OAYA sponsorship funds.
Approved one additional full time FF/EMT-B Position for Fire Department.
Accepted the Planning Commission recommendation for lake lot district overlay.
Approved Resolution authorizing the 2020 Millage Rates with the Special Assessment District.
Established Procedure and Authorized the Election Commission as the Township entity to approve an agreement with Oakland County for the Absentee Voting Board, if necessary.

Notice of Public Accuracy Test of Voting Equipment
To the qualified electors of Addison Township, Oakland County, State of Michigan: Notice is hereby given that a Public Accuracy Test for the electronic voting equipment that will be used in all precincts for the November 3, 2020 General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22 , 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Addison Township Offices, located at 1440 Rochester Rd., Leonard, MI 48367. The Public Accuracy Test is conducted to demonstrate that the computer programming used to tabulate the votes cast at the election meets the requirements of Michigan Election Law.
