Man allegedly spits in fast food workers’ face

An Oxford Tim Horton’s employee called Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies on the evening of March 30 to report an assault. The employee told officials a man driving a dark truck who had a full beard and mustache came to order a toasted bagel through the drive-thru. When the employee informed him the toaster was already off for the night, the report states the man became angry and started yelling over the speaker.

The man then allegedly pulled up to the drive-thru window and spat in the employee’s face, which can be charged as assault. Police are seeking security footage of the incident.

Rifle taken for disorderly conduct

Two kayakers near Dunlap Rd. called Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies on March 29 because they thought a gun had been shot at them. According to the report, the two said they had been kayaking and heard a gunshot come from the deck of a nearby home, which they thought could have been directed at them.

Officers caught up with the occupant of the home, a 20-year-old Oxford man. He told officers he had fired a rifle, but not in the direction of the kayakers. Officers took the gun for safekeeping because the homeowners, the man’s parents, were not there at the time and issued the man a citation for disorderly conduct.

Man grabs neck tie of ex-son-in-law

Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies resolved a familial conflict on March 28. A man called deputies saying his father-in-law had grabbed his neck tie during an argument. According to the report, the man is going through a divorce with his wife and dropped by his former home to see his children, who were being watched by his father-in-law, a 69-year-old Oxford man.

The former couple, the report states, had a verbal agreement that he would give 24 hours’ notice before coming by the house. As this was not the case in this instance, the father-in-law told officers he became angry and demanded the man leave the home. When the father went to a nearby bus stop to see his other children, the father-in-law followed him, at which time he allegedly grabbed the other man’s neck tie and demanded he leave.

The father-in-law, according to the report, became angry because the father had a drinking issue and, in his opinion, should not be around children. Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies had arrested the father in October 2018 for drinking-related issues.

13-year-old hospitalized after vaping

An eighth-grade, 13-year-old Oxford boy was hospitalized after smoking marijuana through a vape on March 26. The boy’s mother called Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies to report the instance. The boy, who is enrolled in Lake Orion Schools, told officers he bought the vape from a female classmate for $15. Because the instance originated in Lake Orion, deputies transferred it to the Lake Orion Police Department’s school liaison officer.

Repeat thief escapes again

Loss prevention employees with the Oxford Meijer called Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies after a woman stole two bottles of alcohol. According to the report, footage shows the woman put a bottle of Smirnoff Vodka and a bottle of Fireball Whiskey in a backpack. The woman then allegedly left the store, reportedly ignoring the calls of loss prevention employees. The woman has stolen liquor from the store a number of times before and had alluded security personnel each time, according to the report.
