Woman allegedly assaults boyfriend

A 40-year-old Oxford woman was arrested by Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies on Feb. 21 after allegedly assaulting her boyfriend. The woman called police that afternoon to report the incident. According to the report, the man had told his live-in girlfriend that she “needed to lose more weight,” or at least lose 20 pounds. After this, the report states the woman “lunged” at him and grabbed him.

The woman told police she had been earnestly trying to lose weight and the comment upset her. She was arrested for domestic assault without incident.

A 63-year-old Oxford woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Thursday night

An Oxford Village police officer responded to an accident report on the evening of Feb. 21. As the officer approached the scene at E. Burdick St. and Glaspie St, one of the two vehicles drove off, After making sure the remaining driver, a woman in a white Yukon, was unhurt, the officer called another officer to the scene and went after the other vehicle.

When police caught up with the other driver, the 63-year-old Oxford woman, the report states the officer could smell alcohol in the vehicle. According to the report, the woman told police she had “a few” drinks that night and had a blood alcohol level on 0.218. Because she had been driving with intoxicated, she was arrested.
