House left wide open

An Oakland County Sheriff’s deputy was out on patrol in the early morning of Jan. 23, 2018 when he noticed a home with its front door wide open. According to the report, there were no signs of forced entry, no footprints in the snow and everything inside appeared to be undisturbed. The officer wrote that it looked like the owners of the home were away on vacation. He secured the door and left the scene.

Customers receive suspicious calls

On Jan. 24, 2018, customers and employees with Oxford Bank called Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies to report suspicious phone calls being made to customers. According to the report, the caller would ask people for their account number so money could be transferred to their accounts. Customers were notified to not give away any personal information to this caller.

Warrant arrest from village police

After learning of the location of an alleged felon’s location on Jan. 31, 2018, Oxford Village Police called Corunna police to arrest the 57-year-old man, who was residing in Corunna and had a warrant out for a felonious charge of driving while intoxicated. Corunna police brought the man to the village station without incident, according to the report. He was then transferred to the Oakland County Jail, also without incident.
