Roger Charles Moore

Roger Charles Moore, of Addison Twp., left us on October 17, 2016 to be with our Lord and Savior. He was 74.

He passed quietly at McLaren Oakland Hospital after a heroic fight against lymphoma and pneumonia.

Roger was born in Detroit, MI, to Charles Francis and N. Joyce Moore on August 5, 1942. He married the love of his life, Jessica, and they were happily married for 51 years, two months, and two days.

They married on August 14th, the hottest day of the year.

He received his bachelor’s degree with honors in Civil Engineering from the Detroit Institute of Technology and his master’s degree from Wayne State University and worked for Detroit Edison for much of his career.

Roger knew as a young boy that he wanted to build bridges and buildings and enjoyed going to work every day.

He was a Deacon at Oakland Woods Baptist Church and he took his service to Jesus and his church seriously.

Roger is survived by his wife, Jessica Antonette Moore (nee Giese), his brother Glen Moore, and his sister Susan Williamson (nee Moore).

He loved Jesus, Jessica, his family and his kitties.

Roger is also survived by his nephews John Young, Jason Young, Joseph Young and niece Sarah Moore.

He was predeceased by his son Jason Mayfield Moore on August 9, 1991.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m., at Oakland Woods Baptist Church, 5628 Maybee Road, Clarkston, MI.

Pastor Steve Sheridan will officiate.

A reception will be held afterward at the church. Call (248) 625-7557 for more information if needed.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Smile Train, P.O. Box 96231, Washington, D.C. (a world-wide medical charity of volunteers who repair cleft palates for children at no charge) would be welcomed.
