That’s my horse!

Lynne Wood, who owns Rattlewood Farms in Oxford with her husband Gary, could not contain her jubilation Saturday evening as Maximum Security, the horse she picked to win the 145th Kentucky Derby, crossed the finish line. Behind her is friend Mary Helen Christy, of Metamora Township. Unfortunately, Wood’s triumph was short-lived as Maximum Security was disqualified for interfering with other horses as they came around the final turn. This led to second-place finisher Country House, a 65-1 long shot, being recognized as the winner. Wood and Christy were attending the Derby Day Celebration fund-raiser at Banbury Cross Therapeutic Equestrian Center in Metamora Township.
