On Wednesday, November 25, the evening before Thanksgiving, a team of volunteers gathered at Oxford United Methodist Church, located at 21 East Burdick Street, to help families and individuals in need enjoy the holiday.
Working as a team, these volunteers prepared and packaged approximately 220 Thanksgiving dinners, which, in accordance with coronavirus (COVID-19) protocols, were delivered to those in need in their cars in the parking lot.
Not only did these families and individuals receive a meal for the holiday, but they were also given groceries to help keep their cupboards and refrigerators stocked.
C.J. Carnacchio, Oxford Township’s Communications and Grants Manager, attended the festivities and captured some photographs of these volunteers, who did this simply out of the goodness of their heart, and allowed The Oxford Leader to share these photos with the community, which are also available on the Charter Township of Oxford’s Facebook page.

  1. I am the new pastor at Oxford UMC. I am happy, proud and thankful that Oxford UMC has taken seriously the feeding and caring for the least among us. God bless them, the volunteers from the community, the members of Oxford UMC, and the recipients of those who are in need.

Rev. Julius Del Pino, Ph.D. Pastor
