Vote ‘yes’ to ‘save our’ parks and rec.

On Tuesday, Aug. 6, voters will be asked to approve two separate operating millages.

The millages are to fund the township’s contract with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and fund operations for the Oxford Township Parks and Recreation Department.

Both departments are crucial to the safety, health and wellness of our community. Please understand that the parks and recreation department’s current operating millage will expire in December.

Currently, you are paying a parks and recreation operational millage of 82 cents for every $1,000 of a home’s taxable value per year. Taxable value is half of your assessed value.

The new millage would marginally increase the amount paid by 18 cents per $1,000 of a home’s taxable value per year.

For example, a home with a taxable value of $100,000 would have paid $82 last year and would now pay $100 per year if the millage is approved.

If you have any questions, please call the Oxford Township Parks and Recreation office (248) 628-1720 or Oxford Township Treasurer’s Office (248) 628-9787.

Save our Parks and Recreation Department with a YES vote!
