She was known as Terry Lee around the halls of Oxford High, but that’s not the case these days.  Now married, the former Wildcat goes by Amanda Leeber and is celebrating the release of her first book, “Behind the Painting.”

Released on Dec. 1, the book was published independently.

“Behind the Painting” follows the protagonist, Lorelei, as she goes through a spiritual and paranormal search for the truth after purchasing a haunted painting. Leeber said the book is full of mystery and paranormal activity.

“I think anyone who (likes to) read a good paranormal or suspense book is going to really like this,” Leeber said. “It’s an easy read, there’s lots of action, I think it keeps your interest and there’s an unexpected twist that isn’t usually in this type of book.”

She thinks the book will appeal to anyone who loves mystery and is certain her plot twists ensure that readers will have an unpredictable experience. A Shamanist, she also thinks the book will introduce readers to a spiritual way of living.

“I wove into (the book) a way that spiritual healing can help Lorelei,” Leeber said. “So I was hoping to bring that element of spirituality into the book.”

Leeber is planning to release a vegan cook book with her husband next year, and said her plans for “Behind the Painting” are far from over. She is currently working on a sequel and plans to tell Lorelei’s story as long as the character continues to provide inspiration.

“I’ve got a second book outlined and it’s called ‘Behind the Scandal,’” Leeber said. “It’s taking Lorelei to the next level, but I don’t want to give away too much.”

“Behind the Painting” can be purchased on Amazon in Kindle and paperback formats. Paperbacks cost $14.99.
