Competing in the OAA County Championships at Kensington Metropark in Milford on Oct. 5, both Oxford cross country programs delivered strong performances.

Paced by senior Lauren Methner’s 31st-place showing on the hilly course, the girls accumulated 342 points and finished in 10th place.

In addition to Methner, sophomore Alaine Cusick (61st), junior Ellie DiMalanta (74th), and seniors Paige Miller (84th) and Aleah Dymond (92nd) scored points for the Lady Wildcats.

Faring very similarly, the Wildcat boys finished 12th with 353 points. Leading the way for Oxford, senior Scott Masterson earned a top-15 finish with his 16:54.9 effort.

Junior Zach Patterson (46th), freshman Xavier Clark (81st), senior Zach Allion (98th) and freshman Kyle DiMalanta (114th) also contributed to the team’s point total.

The Troy Colts captured the county title on the girls’ side, while the Clarkston Wolves were the boys’ champion.

The two teams will next compete in the Oxford Invitational at Oxford Hills Golf Course on Friday, Oct. 11. The girls’ varsity race will begin at approximately 5:15 p.m., with the boys’ following 30 minutes later.
