Booters end season with loss to Kettering

The soccer season came to an official end for the Varsity Boys as they lost 1-0 to Waterford Kettering in the opening round of districts on Tuesday, Oct. 19.
‘It was a tough loss and we played below our standard play,? Varsity Head Coach John Thaler said.
Oxford controlled the opening 20 minutes of the game, creating numerous scoring chances, only to see their shots sail wide.
With less than 10 minutes left in the opening half, Kettering was able to capitalize on a poor clearing attempt and score the game’s lone goal.
The second half saw the Wildcats continue to apply pressure, but only to be denied by Kettering’s goalie.
Oxford finished the season 9-10-1 and return six players to next year’s squad.
