Beverly “Bev” Judith Henry passed away peacefully Nov. 10, 2024 with her family by her side after a long and courageous fight with pneumonia. Bev retired at the age of 50 with her husband Jim up north at Onaway, Michigan. There she took up golf and acquired two holes-in-one throughout her golfing years. Bev worked for Creative Industries in Detroit in the accounting department. She married James Howard Henry Jr in October 1959. They had two sons, James “Jim” Howard Henry III and Donald “Don” Joseph Henry. They lived and raised their family in Clawson, Michigan. Then retired to Black Lake. She and Big Jim bought a home in New Smyrna Beach Florida. They spent winter’s there until moving to Independence Village of Oxford, Michigan where she enjoyed the remaining years of her life. Bev is proceeded in death by her husband James H. Henry, Jr., mother Evelyn Sandri and father Joseph Sandri, brother Russell Sandri (Elane), twin sister Bonnie (Doug) Trembath, and her son Donald (Cheryl) Henry. Bev leaves behind her son Jim Henry (Linda), sister-in-law Linda C. Henry, five grandchildren Jimmy (Shea) Henry, Kelly Henry, Madison (Jake) Elliott, Delaney Henry, Griffin Henry and three great-grandchildren and brother Ken Sandri (Sue). Bev was always willing to be treasurer of everything she was a part of. Bev and Jim enjoyed many years of snowmobiling up north around the Black Lake area, also fishing on Black Lake and salmon fishing on Lake Huron. All of the grandchildren spent weeks of vacationing with Grandma Bev and Grandpa Jim at their Black Lake home. Grandma Bev will be dearly missed by her family and many life long friends. Funeral service from Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick in Oxford is on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024 at 4 p.m. with visitation beginning at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Interment is at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
