Ortonville- The village council approved by a 6-1 vote to suspend Department of Public Works Supervisor Bill Prince for three days without pay following an executive session at their May 29 meeting. However, Village Manager Ed Coy said Wednesday afternoon the motion had been reversed because of an incorrect date and the village will meet again in executive session to discuss the matter.
Coy declined to say what prompted the initial suspension.
According to minutes from the May 29 meeting, Larry Hayden made the motion to suspend Prince, seconded by Harold Batten. Bob Flath, Kay Green, Marcy Hanes and Mary Kassuba all voted yes, while Village Council President Sue Bess voted no. Hayden and Bess declined comment.
Prince also declined to comment.
