Former Ortonville manager snags Lake Orion job

Former Ortonville village manager Paul Zelenak has been selected to be the next village manager of Lake Orion.
The Lake Orion Village Council chose Zelenak by a 6-1 vote during their Feb. 25 meeting.
‘It’s still an offer, we haven’t negotiated the contract,? Zelenak said Tuesday. ‘I’m very excited and looking forward to the opportunity and the challenge of being the next village manager of Lake Orion.?
Zelenak served as Ortonville’s village manager from 2001-2005. He left Ortonville for a position as the city manager of Bloomfield Hills, where he served until 2006. Since that time, he has been community development director for Garden City.
Zelenak, a Clarkston resident, continues to participate in Ortonville events, attending football games and community events, as well as assisting the Brandon Recreation Department at the Christmas in the Village parade.
‘I miss the village,? Zelenak said. ‘It’s a great town. Ortonville was my first job as a municipal manager and that will always hold a special place in my heart. It has better prepared me to be village manager of Lake Orion.?
