Bodies found on I-75 in Independence Township

The bad smell was a dead giveaway that something was wrong.
On Tuesday morning, Michigan Department of Transportation survey crews noticed a foul smell. The odor led them to a grisly discovery — the decomposing remains of two human beings.
According to Oakland County Sheriff’s reports, the crew found the bodies on I-75, about a half mile north of Sashabaw Road, hidden by bushes.
The survey crew called 911 and Sheriff’s cars from the Independence Township Substation responded, stated an OCSD press release.
On a gray, dreary Tuesday afternoon, Sheriff Michael Bouchard conducted a press conference at the ‘park and ride? parking lot at Sashabaw Road entrance to northbound I-75.
The badly decomposed bodies were of two white men, dressed in warm-weather clothing, leading Bouchard to speculate the bodies could have been there for ‘five to six months.?
As of press time, the early crime scene investigation leads law enforcement to believe one man was shot, execution style, in the head. What appears to be a phone cord was found around the throat of the other man.
During the initial investigation northbound I-75 was blocked down to one-lane for several hours.
